Experimental cell therapy aims to reset immune system in Tough-to-Treat lupus
NCT ID NCT07328581
Summary
This early-stage trial is testing a new type of cell therapy for people with severe systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) that hasn't improved with standard treatments. Researchers will collect a patient's own immune cells, modify them in a lab to better target the cells causing lupus, and then infuse them back. The main goals are to see if this one-time treatment is safe and if it can put lupus into remission without needing ongoing lupus medications.
