Engineered immune cells aim to prevent leukemia relapse after transplant

NCT ID NCT06735690

First seen Nov 12, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This early study tests whether giving special immune cells (CAR T cells) along with a vaccine can safely help prevent leukemia from coming back after a stem cell transplant. The CAR T cells are made from the donor's immune cells and are designed to attack a protein called CD19 found on leukemia cells. The vaccine helps boost the immune response. The trial involves 15 people with high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia and focuses on safety and feasibility.
