Double attack on liver tumors: chemo plus radiation shows promise in NETs
NCT ID NCT04339036
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tests a combination of two treatments for people with neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) that have spread to the liver and cannot be removed by surgery. Participants receive chemotherapy pills (capecitabine and temozolomide) plus a one-time radiation treatment delivered directly to the liver via tiny beads (Y-90 radioembolization). The goal is to see if this combination can better control tumor growth in the liver compared to either treatment alone. The study enrolls about 70 adults with grade 2 or 3 NETs where at least half of the tumor burden is in the liver.
