New index may outperform old tests in sepsis death prediction

NCT ID NCT07232342

First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a simple blood test calculation, called the Capillary Leak Index (CLI), can better predict which patients with severe abdominal infections (sepsis) are at risk of dying within 28 days. Researchers will compare CLI to standard markers in 100 adults in the ICU after surgery. The goal is to improve early warning and treatment decisions.
