Hope for rett syndrome: cannabis oil trial aims to ease devastating symptoms
NCT ID NCT07257978
Summary
This study is testing whether a medicinal cannabis plant extract called NTI164 can safely reduce symptoms and improve daily life for people with Rett syndrome, a rare and severe genetic disorder. About 40 female participants, aged 4 to 25, will receive either the study oil or a placebo for a period, then switch, to see which treatment works better. The goal is to see if NTI164 can help with core symptoms like anxiety, communication, and social skills, as suggested by earlier research.
