Local outreach fights cancer screening drop after pandemic

Summary
This study tested whether community-based outreach could help more women in Puerto Rico get recommended cancer screenings. Researchers worked with local groups to reach 500 women who were behind on screenings for breast, cervical, or colorectal cancer. Half received educational materials and reminders, while the other half received general wellness information, to see which approach was more effective at getting people screened.
