New study aims to crack the code of cancer wasting

NCT ID NCT07519837

First seen May 10, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at why many cancer patients lose muscle and fat (cachexia), a condition that makes them weaker and can shorten survival. Researchers will use advanced testing (multi-omics) on 1000 adults with stomach, liver, or other digestive cancers to find early warning signs and possible treatment targets. The goal is to better understand the disease and find ways to stop or reverse the wasting process.
