New hope for cancer patients: drug targets wasting syndrome

Summary

This study looks at how well a drug called nanocrystalline megestrol acetate works for cancer patients who have cachexia, a condition causing severe weight loss and appetite loss. About 495 adults with cancer and cachexia will take the drug and be monitored for up to 12 weeks. The main goal is to see if their appetite improves after 4 weeks, with secondary goals of checking for weight gain.
