New pill tested to boost Insulin's power in diabetes

NCT ID NCT02220920

Summary

This study tested whether adding a pill called canagliflozin to insulin therapy helps people with type 2 diabetes manage their blood sugar better. It involved 146 Japanese adults whose blood sugar was still too high despite using insulin, diet, and exercise. Participants took either the real pill or a placebo (sugar pill) for 16 weeks to compare effects on blood sugar levels, weight, and safety.
