Video previews ease dental fear for wisdom tooth surgery
NCT ID NCT07484334
First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tested if watching a video of the actual surgery or a 3D animation before getting a wisdom tooth removed helps people stay calmer during the procedure. 72 adults were split into three groups: one got standard verbal instructions, another watched a real surgery video, and the third watched a 3D animation. Researchers measured blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels at key moments to see if the videos reduced stress and dental fear.
