First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tested whether using a large language model (LLM) like DeepSeek helps people make better self-diagnoses and care decisions for common illnesses. Over 6,300 adults in China read health scenarios and made guesses before and after using either an LLM or a search engine. The goal was to see if AI collaboration improves accuracy compared to searching the web or going it alone.
