Summary

This study is testing whether taking calamansi (a small citrus fruit) powder capsules for 12 weeks can change blood glucose and insulin levels in healthy young adults aged 18-30. Fifty-four participants will be randomly assigned to receive either calamansi capsules or a placebo. Researchers will measure blood sugar, insulin, and other health markers at the start, after a single dose, and after 12 weeks of daily supplementation.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Calamansi (Citrus x macrocarpa) powder capsule
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a natural supplement that helps manage blood sugar levels in healthy people.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study in healthy volunteers only, so results may not apply to people with diabetes or other conditions. The effect may be small or nonexistent.
