Summary
This study looked at 180 premature babies born between 24 and 30 weeks to see if giving lung medicine (surfactant) through a thin tube instead of a breathing tube reduces the need for a breathing machine. Babies received either the new method plus caffeine or standard care (CPAP) plus caffeine. The goal was to see if fewer babies needed a breathing tube in the first 3 days of life.
