New ablation method aims to cut AFib return rate in half

NCT ID NCT07281898

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a burst stimulation-guided ablation to the standard pulmonary vein isolation procedure can lower the chance of atrial fibrillation coming back. About 240 adults with paroxysmal AFib who are having their first catheter ablation will be randomly assigned to receive either standard treatment alone or standard treatment plus extra ablation guided by burst pacing. The goal is to see if this personalized approach improves long-term outcomes without increasing risks.
