Brain surgery upgrade: could a simple extra step cut relapse risk?

NCT ID NCT07549893

First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a small extra step during standard burr-hole surgery can safely lower the chance of a chronic subdural hematoma coming back. About 30 adults scheduled for this brain surgery will have the surgeon also seal tiny blood vessels feeding the clot, using the same CT scan already taken. The main goal is to see if this added step is safe and doable, not yet to prove it works.
