First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study is testing whether a non-contact camera system can accurately assess burn wound severity and predict healing potential. Researchers will enroll 200 people with burn injuries and use modulated imaging and laser speckle imaging to measure blood flow and tissue health. The goal is to see if this technology can help doctors decide sooner whether a burn will heal on its own or need surgery.
