Walk sooner after bunion surgery? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT03740282
First seen Apr 12, 2026 · Last updated Apr 12, 2026
Summary
This study is testing a specific bunion surgery technique called the Lapiplasty Procedure. It aims to see if patients can safely start putting weight on their foot much sooner after surgery—sometimes within days—compared to the traditional 6-8 weeks of non-weight-bearing. The research will track if this faster recovery affects healing, maintains the correction of the bunion, and improves patients' pain and quality of life.
