First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested whether bumetanide, a drug, can reduce autism symptoms in children ages 3 to 6 who were identified as likely to respond well based on a blood test and computer model. 66 children were split into two groups: one received bumetanide plus behavioral therapy, the other only behavioral therapy. The goal was to see if bumetanide could improve social skills and overall symptoms over three months.
