First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests a gene therapy called BS01 for people with retinitis pigmentosa, a genetic condition that causes gradual vision loss. The therapy uses a harmless virus to deliver a light-sensitive protein to remaining eye cells, aiming to help them detect light again. The trial will enroll 20 participants and focus on safety, as well as improvements in detecting light, motion, and objects.
