First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study tests whether a daily broccoli seed and sprout extract (BSSE) can boost firefighters' natural ability to remove cancer-causing chemicals like benzene from their bodies. 72 firefighters who do not smoke will take either the extract or a placebo for 12 weeks. Researchers will measure detox activity using a safe acetaminophen (Tylenol) challenge before and after the intervention.
