Breath of fresh hope: simple breathing technique tested for Parkinson's stress
NCT ID NCT06581523
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a breathing and meditation program called SKY Breath in 40 people with early-stage Parkinson's and their care partners. Participants will learn the technique over four days and practice daily for four weeks. Researchers will use surveys to measure changes in stress, anxiety, fatigue, and quality of life for both groups.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- SKY Breath and Meditation (a breath-based technique)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to help people with Parkinson's and their care partners feel less stressed and improve their daily well-being.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very small, early feasibility study with only 40 participants. It relies on self-reported surveys, so results may not be generalizable. The intervention requires daily practice, which may be hard for some to maintain.
