Augmented reality tries to help patients stick to breathing therapy

NCT ID NCT07242079

Summary

This study looked at whether using augmented reality could help adults with Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency stick to their prescribed breathing exercises and daily walking. Fifty participants performed breathing techniques twice daily and aimed for 5,000 steps per day for six weeks. Researchers measured if the technology improved how well people followed the program and if it helped ease breathing difficulties and improve quality of life.
