Simple breathing exercises ease frailty and shortness of breath in elderly COPD patients
NCT ID NCT07472530
Summary
This study tested whether a simple breathing exercise program could help older adults with COPD who are also frail. For eight weeks, one group used a handheld breathing device daily, while a comparison group did not. The exercise group showed improved lung function, could walk farther, felt less short of breath, and scored better on measures of frailty, including mood and general health.
