Summary

This study tested a special breathing exercise (diaphragmatic proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) in 40 young adults aged 20-29 who smoked for 1-3 years. The goal was to see if it could improve lung function and exercise ability. Participants did the breathing exercise and had their lung capacity and walking distance measured. The approach is non-drug and focuses on strengthening the diaphragm muscle.
