Diary keeps lungs healthy after surgery

NCT ID NCT06078644

First seen Apr 19, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tested whether keeping a diary of breathing exercises helps prevent lung complications and improves recovery after major abdominal surgery. 60 adults who had surgery like colon or liver resection took part. For 3 days after surgery, one group used a diary to track their breathing exercises, while the other group did not. The goal was to see if the diary made it easier to do the exercises and led to fewer lung problems.
