Could hard breathing make scarred lungs worse? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT05310669
Summary
This study aims to understand if the physical effort of breathing could contribute to the progression of lung scarring in people with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Researchers will measure breathing effort in 100 participants using a simple, non-invasive nose clip before and after light physical activity. The goal is to see if higher breathing effort is linked to faster lung function decline, which could point to new ways to manage the disease.
