Simple breathing circuit trick may reduce tube displacement in lung surgery
NCT ID NCT06182371
First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at 256 people having lung surgery to see if temporarily disconnecting the breathing circuit when moving the patient from lying on their back to their side helps keep the breathing tube in the right place. The goal was to reduce tube movement and improve recovery. Researchers compared patients whose breathing circuit was detached during the position change to those whose circuit stayed connected.
