First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This pilot study tests a new exercise program for frail older adults that combines breathing exercises with blood flow restriction (using a cuff to limit blood flow to the arms or legs). The goal is to see if this approach is safe, enjoyable, and can improve physical function, muscle strength, and mobility. The study will involve 30 community-dwelling adults aged 65 and older who are classified as vulnerable or frail.
