New 3D-Printed molds could transform breast reconstruction surgery

Summary

This study tests whether custom 3D-printed molds can help surgeons shape breast tissue more accurately during reconstruction after mastectomy. About 160 adults having breast reconstruction with their own tissue will take part. The goal is to make the surgery more efficient and improve the final breast shape.
