Simpler breast cancer surgery could reduce repeat operations and save time

NCT ID NCT07244588

Summary

This study compares two surgical techniques used during breast-conserving surgery for early-stage breast cancer. Researchers want to see if a simpler method called 'tumor bed cavity shaving' works as well as the standard frozen section analysis at removing all cancer cells while reducing surgery time and costs. The study will involve 30 women with early breast cancer to determine if the simpler technique leads to fewer repeat surgeries and is practical for hospitals with limited resources.
