First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests a brain-training technique called neurofeedback for people with borderline personality disorder (BPD) who struggle with intense, unstable emotions. The goal is to see if learning to calm a specific brain area (the amygdala) can reduce emotional ups and downs. 164 adults with BPD will receive either real or sham neurofeedback during MRI scans to measure any real benefit.
