Summary

This study tested whether a combination of mild brain stimulation (tDCS) and computer-based thinking exercises could help veterans with alcohol use disorder. Researchers wanted to see if this approach could improve brain function related to self-control and reduce binge drinking. The goal was to find a new way to support recovery and lower the high relapse rates common in alcohol treatment.
