Brain surgery showdown: which method saves more lives after trauma?
NCT ID NCT04261673
Summary
This study compares two emergency brain surgery techniques for patients with a dangerous blood clot pressing on the brain after a head injury. It will involve 120 patients who need surgery to remove the clot. Researchers aim to find out which method—decompressive craniectomy or craniotomy—leads to better long-term recovery, fewer complications, and is more cost-effective.
