Scientists scan brains to unlock why saying 'No' is so hard

NCT ID NCT05795179

Summary

This study aims to understand why resisting temptation feels mentally costly. Researchers will use brain scans and decision-making games with 300 adults who are actively trying to lose or maintain weight. The goal is to map how the brain calculates these 'self-control costs' and how different types of stress affect them.
