First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests a new therapy for people with cerebellar diseases (either present from birth or acquired later) that cause trouble understanding social cues. It combines a gentle brain stimulation technique (HD-tACS) with immersive virtual reality training over eight sessions. The goal is to see if this approach can improve the ability to predict others' actions and emotions. The study involves 60 participants and uses a sham (inactive) stimulation group as a comparison.
