Scientists zap brains to unlock language secrets

NCT ID NCT07554105

First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study explores how a safe, mild electrical current applied to the scalp (transcranial random noise stimulation) affects language performance. Healthy adults aged 18-35 or 60-90 will do language tasks during real or fake stimulation, without knowing which. The goal is to learn how the brain processes language, which may help develop future therapies for brain injuries.
