Zapping the blues away? new brain device tested on depressed teens

Summary
This small pilot study is testing whether a non-invasive brain stimulation device, called transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS), can help teenagers experiencing their first episode of depression. Thirty participants, aged 12-18 who have never taken antidepressants, will use the device or a sham version while also starting a standard medication. The goal is to see if the stimulation helps reduce depression symptoms faster and more effectively than medication alone.
