Brain zaps tested to help patients trapped in their own bodies move again

NCT ID NCT07257601

Summary

This study is testing whether two types of non-invasive brain stimulation can help improve movement in people with locked-in syndrome. It will involve 72 patients who are conscious but mostly paralyzed, comparing real stimulation to fake stimulation over a 4-week treatment period. The goal is to see if this approach can help patients regain some motor function in their limbs and face.
