Smart brain implant learns to fight movement disorder

Summary
This study is testing whether a special brain implant can help control movement and balance problems in people with spinocerebellar ataxia type 6. Five adults with this genetic condition will receive a device implanted in their cerebellum that delivers electrical stimulation. The device automatically adjusts its stimulation based on the person's brain signals, aiming to provide better symptom control than constant stimulation.
