Scientists zap brains to unlock anxiety secrets

NCT ID NCT04824105

Summary

This research study aims to understand how a magnetic brain stimulation device affects how people with anxiety disorders react to fearful situations. Researchers are recruiting 80 adults currently in treatment for anxiety, PTSD, or OCD to complete brain scans and computer tasks while receiving brief magnetic stimulation. The study explicitly states it is not testing a treatment, but hopes the findings will help improve future therapies.
