Summary
This study looks at whether the brain's ability to use oxygen during surgery is linked to postoperative delirium (sudden confusion) in adults aged 65 and older. Researchers will measure brain oxygen levels during laparoscopic surgery using a non-invasive forehead sensor. Participants will then be checked for delirium for up to three days after surgery. The goal is to better understand risk factors for delirium, not to test a treatment.
