Autistic brain study links masking and eating disorders
NCT ID NCT07098156
First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at how autistic people who also have anorexia nervosa differ in brain structure and behavior from autistic people without anorexia. Researchers want to know if those with anorexia use more "masking" (hiding autistic traits to fit in) and how that relates to brain changes. Participants will fill out questionnaires and get an MRI scan. This is an observational study, not a treatment trial.
