Brain scans reveal hidden link between your hands and your voice

NCT ID NCT06908863

Summary

This small, completed study used brain scans (fMRI) to look for connections in the brain between controlling fine hand movements and making speech sounds. Researchers scanned 20 healthy, right-handed young adults while they performed hand tasks and silently articulated sounds. The goal was to map shared brain networks, with the hope that this knowledge could one day improve speech therapy for stroke patients.
