Scientists scan brains to uncover link between two diseases
NCT ID NCT00302146
Summary
This study aimed to understand the connection between Gaucher disease and Parkinson's disease by looking at how the brain works. Researchers used PET and MRI scans to compare brain activity and dopamine use in 64 adults, including people with either condition, their family members, and healthy volunteers. The goal was to learn about early brain changes and identify people at risk, not to test a treatment.
