Could a simple blood test predict a Child's brain fog after surgery?

NCT ID NCT07192549

Summary

This study aims to understand why some young children experience confusion or agitation after surgery and if it affects their long-term learning and memory. Researchers will measure specific chemicals in the blood of 200 children (ages 1-3) before and after a common hernia repair. They will track these children for years to see if changes in these chemicals are linked to post-surgery confusion or later thinking skills at age 5.
