New study explores Drug's effect on brain during dangerous low blood sugar

Summary

This study looks at how a drug called dichloroacetate affects brain function when blood sugar drops too low in people with type 1 diabetes. It involves 16 adults who have had severe low blood sugar or don't notice symptoms of low blood sugar. Participants will receive the drug or a placebo, and their brain activity and thinking skills will be measured under controlled low blood sugar conditions.
