Scientists watch stroke Survivors' brains during walking tasks

NCT ID NCT03559283

Summary

This study used a special brain imaging technique to understand how stroke survivors' brains work when they walk and think at the same time. Researchers measured brain activity and walking patterns in 11 stroke patients while they performed different thinking tasks. The goal was to learn why walking becomes harder when stroke patients try to think about other things, which could help prevent falls in the future.
