New calculator could predict prostate surgery success

NCT ID NCT07277556

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study will observe 200 men with enlarged prostate (BPH) who are scheduled for a standard surgery called TURP. Researchers want to see which pre-surgery tests—like symptom scores, ultrasound, and urine flow—best predict a good outcome. The goal is to build a simple calculator that helps doctors and patients decide if TURP is likely to work well for them.
