Jaw-dropping results: BOTOX shrinks bulky jaw muscles in new study

NCT ID NCT06387394

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tested whether BOTOX injections can safely reduce the size of the masseter muscle, the chewing muscle that can make the lower face look wide. About 200 adults with noticeable jaw muscle bulk received either BOTOX or a placebo. The results showed that BOTOX improved the appearance of the jawline, as rated by both doctors and participants, with few side effects.
