New surgical approach aims to slash bone tumor recurrence rates
NCT ID NCT03295981
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a bone-strengthening medication directly into the surgical site during tumor removal can reduce the chance of the tumor growing back. Researchers are comparing this approach against standard surgery alone in 120 patients with giant cell tumors in their arms or legs. The goal is to see if this local treatment can provide better long-term control of the tumor while maintaining limb function.
